Wulffenstejn hardanger fiddles are made in the tradition of fine Norwegian craftsman using time-honored building techniques. Our instruments are not made on an assembly line but are individually hand-crafted.

Only the finest materials available are used in building our fiddles. The backs, ribs, and necks are made using the highest grade, and highly flamed maple. The soundboards are made from tight-grained red spruce, which is beautiful in appearance and produces an excellent tone. The fingerboard, and tail piece are made from the finest ebony available.

Each of our instruments are unique and personal. Our clients participate in the building process from the beginning of the project to the end, selecting their woods, color, inlay pattern and rosing designs.

You may have to wait a few months for your instrument to be made, but then the experience of having an instrument hand made especially for you is worth the wait.
