  We specialize in hand-crafted instruments that are not readily available at the traditional music store such as the viola d'amore and the violetta. The viola d' amore is a 17th century instrument that has 14 strings and spans the range of both a violin and a viola. Seven strings are played while seven understrings sound to the harmonic vibrations of the overstrings. We have two models to choose from: Viola d'amore (Bavarian 1743) Plans are also available if you are a builder and would like to build one yourself. Viola d'amore plans sell for $45.00 each.
